Hi, all! Hope everyone’s been having a good year so far. We finally managed to complete our first major undertaking of completing all Generation I Pokémon, but that’s only the beginning! This challenge was a springboard for the rest of our project, to create a database of monsters from anime, manga, and video games. Using the monsters we have already completed, we can branch out to all corners of the monster universe.

We’re going to take a brief break from our database project for about a week or two to catch up on contest entries, adoptables, and whatnot. Then we’ll ramp it up with revamps and the requests we have already received. To view a list of these, click here.

We’re starting up our first 3-5-7 round. For the next two months (until March 31st), we’ll be taking commission requests and will get to work on them gradually. If all slots are filled by that time, everyone will receive $2 off!

Just a quick rundown of what you can request for commissions:

- Colored pencil only for full color commissions. A digital version will be created free of charge.

- Graphite pencil or black colored pencil for sketches.

- Up to three monsters/creatures per commission OR other monster-related themes, such as scenery, items, etc. from monster worlds.

- Can be canon, your own creations, or others' creations (last one requires prior approval)

- Any setting as long as it is pertinent to the situation. If one is not specified, it will remain blank unless we're inspired to do otherwise.

What you cannot request for commissions:

- Trainers/Tamers or other human characters (not our strongest subject matter, but we're improving).

- Anthro (naturally anthropomorphic characters such as Sonic the Hedgehog are fine).

- Chibi (we'll be introducing our own chibi style at a later time, but for now we are holding off on those).

Featured Squiby Pets:

This month we’re spotlighting another Squibbler who creates their own original species. The Mites, created by Deebs, are perhaps the best known and most popular adoptables available on Squiby. Their cute and whimsical appearance and nearly anthropomorphic build make them versatile and highly desired.

We also wanted to highlight the Mites because Deebs recently lost their mother to cancer. They created the first Mite in our list as a memorial to their mother. If you have a Squiby account, you should definitely show your support by adopting a few of Deebs’s Mites and perhaps leaving a little comment on the species thread. They also have a second account with a few other creatures from Planet Faraway, the natural habitat of the Mites.
